How To Set Up A Green Screen Photo Booth
The backdrops don't work in the usual way like you might have seen in a studio or on a film set. When you start the effects the moment are asked to step out of the picture the iSight freezes the background and will display the frozen pixels that it has captured and stored in memory and writes these to a 'backdrop' layer on your screen. When the iSight registers changes in the picture it has in memory it displays these new picture values and only these. So it does only refresh pixels that do not have the same value that correspond with the value it has stored in memory. This technique is used in the video backdrop effects as well, the background you see is not the frozen background it uses for superimposing but a layer in between blocking the background pixel values from 'shining' through the video layer.
