Hi, I have the same issue as GWolz has I cannot get my copy of Office for Mac 2016 to activate. I also have a truncated product activation key.
I tried to activate by phone but was told that my key would not validate. I spoke to a human but the quality of the line was so bad I couldn't hear very well and at the end of the call I was told to call technical support in the morning because I think that he couldn't validate the key either. I've taken a look in the log GWolz was asked to supply and I've noticed that the log contains an entry 'Product key returned' which doesn't match the product key on my receipt. The entry in the log starts NYY9R and my receipt shows NB4HG. Could this be significant? Anyway - any help appreciated. I've already un-installed with CleanMyMac, un-installed manually following two different sets of Microsoft instructions and now I'm getting a little fed up.
